Schneider Downs Expands Management Team

Schneider Downs & Co. recently announced that John Brady has joined the firm as an Accounting Advisory Manager.

Mr. Brady has 25 years of diverse accounting and finance experience, serving in both public accounting and private industry settings. Throughout his career, he has served clients over a broad range of sizes and a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, start-up, healthcare, retail, automotive and financial services. At Schneider Downs, Mr. Brady is responsible for the planning, coordination, management and overall delivery of services with his clients and is also instrumental in coaching, mentoring and evaluating fellow client service professionals.

Mr. Brady received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting from West Virginia University.

Financial Accounting Foundation Appoints Hillary H. Salo to the Financial Accounting Standards Board

The Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) recently announced the appointment of Hillary H. Salo to a five-year term on the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Her term will begin on July 1, 2024, and conclude on June 30, 2029, when she will be eligible for consideration for reappointment.

Hillary joined the FASB in 2020 as technical director and chair of its Emerging Issues Task Force from the New York City office of KPMG LLP where she was an engagement partner in the audit practice. She began her KPMG career in the Chicago office in the accounting advisory services group and moved to the New York City office to join the audit quality and professional practice group. She then served as a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, D.C., from 2013 to 2015 before returning to KPMG in New York City in 2015 as a partner. She began her career as an FASB postgraduate technical assistant after graduating with a master’s degree in accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ms. Salo will succeed James L. Kroeker, whose second and final term on the Board concludes on June 30, 2024.  Mr. Kroeker currently serves as vice chairman of the FASB.

 

Financial Accounting Foundation Reappoints Susan M. Cosper to the Financial Accounting Standards Board

The Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) recently announced the reappointment of Susan M. Cosper to a second five-year term on the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) effective July 1, 2024, and concluding on June 30, 2029.

Sue Cosper joined the FASB on May 1, 2019, having previously served eight years as its technical director and chair of the Emerging Issues Task Force. Prior to joining the FASB, Ms. Cosper was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in New York City. She earned her B.S. in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a certified public accountant in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
